In celebration of our 15th anniversary, GlobalGiving introduced an inaugural list featuring the most promising nonprofits in our community. GlobalGiving’s “Top 10 Nonprofits Committed to Impact” list features organizations that have demonstrated the greatest commitment to impact. Giving Compass is featuring these projects on its home page and other featured spots this month.

GlobalGiving and Giving Compass Partner to Reach Grassroots

GlobalGiving is partnering with Giving Compass to offer projects at local nonprofits worldwide.  When Giving Compass donors are ready to “Take Action” you will see projects that come to the platform via an integration with GlobalGiving.

My co-founder, Dennis Whittle, and I left the World Bank to launch GlobalGiving in 2002. GlobalGiving connects individual donors with local nonprofit organizations, whose impact has historically been all too easy to ignore because of their size or the remoteness of their work.

Fifteen years later, that funding bridge has turned into a global marketplace where anyone in the world can find and support projects they otherwise would never have known about. The GlobalGiving community has even become the preferred way for a growing number of companies to channel their giving.

Since its founding, more than 680,000 people and more than 225 companies have provided more than $285 million to 17,000+ projects in 170 countries through GlobalGiving.

We chose to partner with Giving Compass because it shares our commitment to continuous improvement and impact. Through our GG Rewards program, GlobalGiving awards Effectiveness Points to the nonprofits that demonstrate the greatest commitment to improvement. We then use the power of our search algorithms, marketing campaigns, and corporate partnerships to drive more resources to the organizations that have the highest potential to do the most good.

GlobalGiving is building a global movement around the belief that there is a better way to do international development. We are proving that community-driven development can be sustainable and effective, and driving more resources to organizations that learn and improve the most. Please join us in celebrating our partnership with Giving Compass and the awe-inspiring nonprofits on this list!
