In addition to directly investing in projects and programs that benefit area residents through competitive grants, we channel a portion of our Community’s Endowment funding, totaling $82,000 in 2017, to efforts that strengthen our local nonprofit sector.  These are investments in the capacity of our nonprofit organizations, individually and collectively, to maximize their impact in the community.

Field Level investments are made in organizations whose roles are to improve the nonprofit sector and foster cross-sector collaboration as well as provide resources that benefit the entire local nonprofit field. Within this space, we support the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance which serves area nonprofits by facilitating collaboration, leveraging resources, and providing professional and organizational development opportunities as well as Community SPOKE which enhances the quality of life for all Ottawa County residents through a strategic, coordinated, and systemic response to human service needs.

We also invest in collaborative efforts to gather robust local data that provide critical insights into new and changing needs in our community.
