The technology industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. For this reason, many of the richest people in the world are technology entrepreneurs. These billionaires have managed to earn a great deal of money from the industry and a number of them are actively involved in charity works.

  1. Michael Dell- In 2000, they created the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, which has given out roughly $1 billion to charity work since it was created.
  2. Paul Allen- Paul Allen, alongside Bill Gates, formed Microsoft. Allen was ranked as the most charitable man in America in 2011.
  3. Bill Gates-Gates was the primary founder of software company Microsoft, and is widely regarded as the most generous tech philanthropist in the country.
  4. Leonard Bosack and Sandy Lerner-The two are the co-founders of Cisco.
  5. Irwin Jacobs- Founder of Qualcomm and has a net worth of about $1.3 billion, and has given roughly $500 million; a significant portion considering his worth.
