At one point or another on your giving journey, you may face obstacles or simply wish to connect with others who are working on issues you care about.
If you’re interested in upping your game, there’s a robust array of organizations, people, and peer networks that can jumpstart your efforts. In partnership with Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS), Giving Compass now offers a comprehensive directory of more than 250 organizations uniquely positioned to support high net worth donors across the U.S.
What You’ll Find in the Philanthropy Resource Directory
In search of an advisor who can help along the way? In need of research related to your favorite cause? Looking for vetted places to give?
In the directory, you’ll find organizations of all sizes working in these areas and can ensure your dollars are making the most impact. (Note: While the directory is comprehensive, it’s not exhaustive.)
Here’s a brief overview of the support categories:
- Philanthropy advisors and consultants: Search for consultants or advisors who can guide your giving strategy and help you identify effective nonprofits. (Note: This data set includes the larger, national firms, and not yet independent practitioners.)
- Learning networks: Join other high net worth donors on the journey to give more effectively.
- Research and data providers: Search for organizations that conduct research and collect data to help support philanthropic efforts.
- Collaborative funds and intermediaries: From community foundations to funder collaboratives, find organizations that can direct your dollars to vetted nonprofit organizations. (Note: The guide lists only organizations with programs designed specifically for high net worth donors.)

How to Use the Philanthropy Resource Directory
You can search for relevant organizations in one of two ways:
- By resource and focus
- By state
Not sure exactly what you’re looking for yet? Choose your focus area and “any resource.”
Once you’ve made your selection, the guide will serve up a list of relevant organizations, including a description and contact information.
No matter where you are in your giving journey — and no matter how it evolves — we hope this tool helps you discover and connect with support, sources of inspiration, and allies.
Impact Philanthropy is a complex topic, and others found these selections from the Impact Giving archive from Giving Compass to be good resources.
