Foundation executives and those who lead grantmaking strategy and practice are invited to attend a lunch conversation about alternative governance structures in the 21st century.
One of the most critical factors in any non-profit’s success is its governance. Boards impact our partners’ strategic direction, leadership selection, staff time allocation, and financial security. Philanthropic organizations thus have a vested interest in their grantees’ governance structures.
Please join foundation executive directors and senior program officers for a candid and confidential discussion of how we can best support our partner organizations in building and enhancing their board structure. This roundtable will briefly explore the evolution of the current system of non-profit governance, from its roots in the early twentieth century, and move quickly to consider if this current model is best equipped to help our partners tackle very twentieth-first century problems. This will be a highly generative and interactive exchange.
