Artists, Activism + Social Impact

Impact Hub Seattle

About

Join June Wilson, consultant and former Executive Director of Quixote Foundation, as she moderates a conversation on art and activism for social change. Panelists will include Cleo Barnett, deputy director of Amplifier, artist Raychelle also know as Bombchelle, Everett Lawson recently of Seattle City Club and Donald Summers of Altruist.

Our discussion will delve into Amplifier’s design-lab model which works with community-based social change partners and artists to build symbols, language and distribution strategies to change the national narrative. We will use their recent campaign, Power to the Polls, a national voter-registration drive and traveling art exhibition as a jumping off point to learn about and discuss their challenges and successes.

We will explore questions of scale and what it means to work distributively and across difference. We will also examine the crucial role investors play in supporting and sustaining arts activism for the long term. Come with your openness, curiosity and questions, and leave inspired.

Light snacks and beverages to be provided!
