Beyond the Grant: Foundations as Impact Investors

Host Organization: The Bridgespan Group

About

Foundations are increasingly looking for ways to tackle systemic challenges, but do not always consider all of the resources at their disposal. A recent Foundation Source survey found that while 88% of foundations are interested in impact investing - few foundations use impact investing tools, and even fewer use the full range of options.

Contrary to conventional wisdom, these tools available are not just for the largest foundations. We explore how foundations of all sizes can use impact investing in the service of social impact in a new brief, with the support of The Kresge Foundation, “Beyond the Grant: Foundations as Impact Investors.”

Please join The Bridgespan Group and The Kresge Foundation for a webinar that provides an overview of the research, as well as share practical examples from Kresge’s own experience.

Participants will:

1. Learn about the array of impact investing tools and how to evaluate which are best suited to their organization’s goals
2. Hear practical advice on how to effectively harness impact investing
3. Explore how impact investing can play a critical role in addressing structural racism

This webinar is intended for leaders and staff of foundations of all sizes that are interested in impact investing and are grappling with key strategic questions.
