Black Giving and Beyond Summit

Black Philanthropy Month

About

Tumultuous. Tenuous. Precious. This moment presents an unprecendented opportunity to seize a new future for Black people everywhere, struggling amid the impacts of twin pandemics: Covid-19 and anti-Black racism.

As Black Philanthropy Month (BPM) nears a decade, we are proud to have engaged nearly 17 million people worldwide to advance Black giving. But these new times require new measures. Our organizations were underfunded before 2020. Now they are devastated. To rebuild our communities, we must support both our nonprofits and our businesses. So, for BPM 2020, we are expanding beyond philanthropy to also consider how all forms of funding can advance the economic justice so essential for racial equity.

With $1.2 trillion in buying power, as well as a multi-billion dollar giving and investment economy in the US alone, Black people possess the means to jump-start the monumental community rebuilding required in the wake of the coronavirus crisis and public demands for racial justice.

The Black Giving and Beyond Summit invites all leaders to reimagine how to use philanthropy, social impact investing, angel investing, and venture capital to create a more equitable future. Registration is free.

An inaugural global convening of Black Philanthropy Month, the Summit is by design a high-tech, participatory virtual experience for learning, networking and transformation. It is made possible by knowledgeable partners and generous sponsors from the US, Africa and across the Diaspora.

Kicking off on August 1st with a daylong program of luminary keynote speakers and panelists, the Black Giving and Beyond Summit extends through August with a series of convenings. This landmark global engagement will culminate in New Black Funding Principles to scale effective racial justice and multi-faceted recovery.

Register today! Don’t miss these crucial discussions, and your chance to ask questions and provide input. We look forward to seeing you at the Black Giving and Beyond Summit to create a new and just future for our communities.

Thank you!
