Conversations with GIA: COVID-19 and Older People: What Are the Essential Policy Roles for Philanthropy?

Host Organization: Southern California Grantmakers and Grantmakers in Aging

About

The Coronavirus pandemic is impacting all segments of our society in unprecedented ways, from sheltering in place to social distancing to panic shopping.  While much remains unknown about the disease and its course, we know for certain that older people will be impacted the most.  What are the critical policy issues that must be addressed if we are to help older people in greatest need?  What is the role of philanthropy in addressing those needs?  Our panelists will focus on the policy debates at the national, state, and local levels and will provide concrete examples of ways in which funders can help in this critical time.
