COVID-19: Past Epidemics and Vulnerability — Lessons for Funders Today
About
As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to worsen in the United States and abroad, one thing is clear: the most vulnerable among us will be hit the hardest and take the longest to recover. Lessons learned from previous epidemics like Ebola, H1N1 and the HIV/AIDS crisis can help philanthropy respond effectively to COVID-19 and better protect vulnerable communities.
The Center for Disaster Philanthropy, with generous support from the UPS Foundation, is hosting a webinar Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 2 p.m. ET to discuss what history teaches us about vulnerability during epidemics and what philanthropy can do now to help reduce that vulnerability in the COVID-19 pandemic. Speakers will also discuss what the medium and long-term recovery needs are going to be and next steps for philanthropy.
