COVID-19 & Veterans and Military Families: Funder Call to Understand Local Impacts and Needs

The current interruption of veteran programs and services in conjunction with the National Guard’s latest service activation for COVID-19 response efforts will inevitably have a long-term impact on service members and their families. Service members are already prone to unemployment and mental health challenges and we expect to see these issues exacerbated as we continue through the current public health and economic crises.

To address the immediate and long-term needs of veteran and military family populations, SCG will host a call to convene members on their response efforts to the COVID-19 in relation to veterans and military families, trends and challenges our nonprofit partners are facing, and opportunities for philanthropy to take a strategic role in our region’s veteran space in the months and years to come.
