Cultivating Trust in a Time of Distrust

Host Organization: The Whitman Institute

About

Join The Whitman Institute and our special guest speakers in the first of our three-part webinar series on cultivating trust-based practices in a time of distrust. This webinar will specifically explore the critical role of trust and partnership in philanthropy.

At a time when there is very little collaboration on the national political stage, and as the public’s trust in our institutions continues to erode, it is more important than ever for funders and nonprofit leaders to work together to repair trust. What does a democratic partnership look like in philanthropy? How can we demonstrate trustworthiness as comrades, public servants, neighbors, funders? How can we cultivate relationships that are truly geared toward advancing our shared goals?

Join us in an interactive video discussion as we break down three of the key pillars of The Whitman Institute’s framework on trust-based philanthropy: 1) partnering in a spirit of service; 2) encouraging transparency, and 3) open and honest communication. We’ll discuss the big picture context around partnership in philanthropy, as well share stories that highlight the challenges and opportunities that come up for funders and grantees in maintaining honest collaboration and trusting partnerships.
