Decolonizing Wealth: A Conversation on Equity in Philanthropy with Edgar Villanueva

SVP Seattle

About

In his new book, “Decolonizing Wealth,” Edgar Villanueva weaves a provocative analysis of the dysfunctional colonial dynamics at play in philanthropy and finance, and offers a prescription for restoring balance and healing our divides using the guidance of indigenous wisdom.

Join us for a conversation with Edgar and Social Venture Partners’ CEO Solynn McCurdy where we’ll discuss what we can learn from indigenous communities about their relationship to money and to sharing resources for social justice and how we can move forward in new ways.

Edgar is a nationally-recognized expert on social justice philanthropy and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Native Americans in Philanthropy. Additional context on Edgar’s work and the Book “Decolonizing Wealth” can be found here and here.

This event is made possible through the generous support of the Satterberg Foundation and Bank of America. 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to Generation Indigenous.
