About
Do you want to have more productive and enjoyable board meetings, where important work is accomplished, and everyone contributes their best?
Through effective facilitation, you will invite colleagues to learn together, consider new ideas and opportunities, and create plans for action. Facilitation elevates conversations, opening up powerful opportunities.
In this four-module, seven-week, intensive training you will learn the elements of great facilitation, practice the skills, and engage in peer coaching. You will leave prepared to be a change agent within your foundation, as well as an adept facilitator for your grantees and other community partners. You will experience opportunities for meaningful connection and community-building with your peers.
This training and practice span both fundamental and more advanced skills:
- Core competencies: Active listening, effective time management, attunement to group dynamics, building participation and shared purpose, welcoming all voices, navigating resistance and tension, personal presence, and adaptability
- Strategic functions: Surfacing diverse perspectives, collaborative decision-making, collective sense-making, and reflection, mobilizing and strategizing for action
Who should attend?
This program is designed for those who are leading conversations at their foundations among board, staff, and family (i.e. everyone from board chairs to executive directors to next gen members) as well as for lean funders who want to facilitate convening and conversations among grantees, constituents or community members.
