Faith and Philanthropy [Webinar]

Host Organization: Johnson Center for Philanthropy

About

Throughout the history of philanthropy, faith has played a vital role. Many of this country’s 1.5 million nonprofits birthed out of religious organizations, and religion continues to garner more than 30% of philanthropic dollars each year.

Still, growth in this giving area has slowed to less than one percent annually. And we are experiencing a surge in the number of people who do not identify with any particular religious tradition, including those that self-identify as atheist or agnostic. These “nones” now represent some 23 percent of the U.S. population.

So what does this mean for your organization?

Join us for this webinar on April 16 to better understand the role that faith plays in philanthropy and how it might impact your organization.

Key concepts will include:

  • Providing a historical context for understanding the impact of religion on the philanthropic sector
  • Understanding how faith impacts philanthropy today, including the changing language of spirituality
  • Exploring how faith can impact your organization, whether or not it is a faith-based organization

Cost: $40
