Artificial intelligence (AI) holds significant promise for enhancing outcomes in the social sector. Philanthropy will be pivotal in ensuring that AI adoption is responsible, equitable, and aligned with community needs.
Join the Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG) for an insightful conversation with Michael Belinsky, Director of Schmidt Sciences’ AI Institute, and Sarah Di Troia, Managing Director of Project Evident’s OutcomesAI practice, where they’ll discuss findings from the recent report, Funding the Future: Grantmaker Strategies in AI Investment. This research, supported by Schmidt Sciences, Google.org, and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, explores how funders are approaching AI implementation, balancing innovation with ethical considerations.
The session will highlight emerging practices, share actionable insights, and provide recommendations for grantmakers aiming to lead in AI investments. Attendees will also learn about tools, such as the AI Granting Rubric, designed to assist in evaluating AI proposals effectively.
This session is designed for philanthropic staff and nonprofit leadership, including:
For those interested, there will be an optional 30-minute post-event discussion where attendees can ask additional questions to Sarah and any additional presenters. A registration link will be shared at the start of the event. All questions will be answered in order of who uses the “Raised Hand” feature.
This session will be facilitated by Gozi Egbuonu, Director of Programs at TAG.
