Across the country, communities are working to end homelessness and address housing challenges by shifting policy to transform systems. In order to do that and achieve housing justice, strong political and public will must be built. However, gaining support requires compelling and values-based messaging to make the case. We have heard over and over that we need to “shift the narrative.” But, what does that really mean and what messages work? Join us on October 13th for a look at the landscape of current research and examples of projects that funders are supporting across the country. We’ll highlight findings from the research, opportunities for philanthropy to take strong narratives and messaging and turn it into action, and how to address capacity needs to implement effective messaging for housing justice.
In this webinar, we’ll hear from Dr. Tiffany Manuel who, with the support of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, brought together researchers from across the country working on narrative change related to housing and homelessness to capture the landscape of this narrative and messaging space. She’ll lead a conversation with funders in this work who have been engaging in narrative and messaging projects of their own.
SAVE THE DATE: After this webinar we will be planning a follow-up call for funders interested in continuing the conversation. If you may be interested in that conversation, please hold October 27th.
Participation in our programming is limited to private funders, including foundations, United Ways, corporate giving programs, individual philanthropists, and philanthropy serving organizations (PSOs). If you have questions about your eligibility to register, please contact Stephanie Chan, Director of Membership and Programs at Funders Together to End Homelessness.
