Hurricane Dorian slammed into the northern Bahamas as a powerful Category 5 hurricane, with winds in excess of 185 mph and a storm surge of 18-23 feet. Dorian then stalled and subjected the Bahamas to its hurricane force winds for more than 48 hours, causing extreme devastation.
In part one of our Hurricane Dorian webinars, experts from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) will discuss what’s happening in the Bahamas after the Category 5 storm and its unprecedented stalling.
Panelists will detail the current challenges, effective approaches and how best to support the unique needs of small islands in recovery. CDP President and CEO Robert G. Ottenhoff will moderate the discussion.
