Intervention Through Prevention: Supporting Trauma-Informed Care, Evaluation, and Prevention Strategies
About
As Funders Together and our network work toward housing justice as our north star, we are examining how our members and partners are working to transform systems and present a spectrum of solutions ranging from new supportive housing options for those leaving jails and prisons to eliminating the prison industrial system that perpetuates cycles of harm.
In this third webinar of the series, we will focus on how philanthropy is partnering with community organizations to interrupt the systems that perpetuate housing instability, criminal legal system involvement, and other collateral consequences that prevent housing justice.
Together with the MacArthur Foundation and one of their grantee partners, we'll explore their new prevention initiative, Just Home Project, which seeks to support marginalized communities by limiting their interactions with the criminal legal system. We will highlight one of the four cities that they are working in and begin to envision a more liberated future through a prevention lens.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn examples of how decreasing community interactions with the carceral system to help prevent homelessness
- Understand partnership dynamics that can deepen community connections
- Explore ways philanthropy can support prevention efforts in various communities
Speakers:
- Adrienne Yandell, Senior Community Development Manager, Partner Tulsa
- Allison Clark, Associate Director, Impact Investments, John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation
- Jacob Beaumont, Director of Criminal Justice Initiatives, Housing Solutions
