Reimagining Philanthropy: Data for Social Impact

Council of New Jersey Grantmakers

About

The Council of New Jersey Grantmakers cordially invites you to join staff and trustees representing grantmaking organizations across the state for our first ever virtual Annual Meeting & Holiday Gathering.

We can’t meet in person, but you’ll still get a chance to hear from colleagues and expert facilitators. The meeting will take place as two 90-minute sessions over two days, all via Zoom. Engage in an interactive workshop on December 7, then rejoin us on December 8 as we come together for our keynote presentation and a brief business meeting.

We promise an excellent opportunity to learn together, build new skills, and connect — without having to leave home.

This year’s meeting will be a conversation on the many ways philanthropy can use “Data for Social Impact” to turn evidence into action.

Data science is a powerful tool to address housing and food insecurity, education inequality, health disparities, civic injustice, and other longstanding social issues that continue to intensify during the pandemic. Building data capacity equips local leaders with information to develop and advocate for more effective policies. New evaluation strategies can outperform outdated processes that reinforce inequities and slow progress. Research and technology that fuels innovation in the private sector can help nonprofit and government organizations drive impact in New Jersey communities.

Our skill-building workshop will focus on evaluation and learning tools to advance social change. For our keynote presentation, speakers will share how Data for Social Impact empowers local communities to tackle the pandemic, racial inequity, and other challenges that lie ahead.

Philanthropy can’t go back to “normal,” because normal wasn’t good enough. So, join us in reimagining philanthropy by harnessing the full power of data for social impact.
