Unplugged: Helping Refugee Children in NYC

Host Organization: Robin Hood

About

Please join us on Wednesday, February 7 for a special evening with award-winning journalist, Sonia Nazario, and the architects of ICARE and Terra Firma. Together, we will discuss the plight of refugee children in New York City and the critical work of the organizations providing them with health care and legal representation in their deportation proceedings.

Framed by the story from Sonia’s Enrique’s Journey and Victor’s tale of resilience from this year’s Heroes Breakfast, we will delve into the journey that thousands of children are making to the United States each year on their own. We’ll explore the reasons they are coming and the many ways that our city is motivated and struggling to support them: from legal assistance and mental health, to English language learning and housing instability.

Refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres will be served

To attend, please RSVP by Friday, February 2nd to bmason@robinhood.org or call (212) 844-3566.

Please note: This event is first come, first served!

We hope you can join us.

A special thank you to Pershing Square Foundation for their partnership.
