Supporting Frontline Communities Convening

Philanthropy Northwest

About

As the current administration continues to issue threats against many communities through executive orders and policy changes, organizations led by those communities remain on the frontlines: fighting for basic rights, protecting communities against hate, and organizing to build resiliency and power.

Last year, nonprofits led by and for communities of color, immigrants and refugees, and working-class people, worked with funding partners to highlight the dire need of community-led organizations in an era of heightened hate, xenophobia and decreased public services. We listened to community members’ stories, their strategies for resistance, and brainstormed collaborative solutions. It has been one year since we had this productive conversation.

Please join Philanthropy Northwest, Nonprofit Assistance Center and Rainier Valley Corps as we reconvene and discuss how the situation has changed for communities on the frontline. How can foundations and community-led organizations work better together in response to new realities?
