Event

Supporting LGBTQ Youth in the Sex Trades

Host Organization: NW Network

About

Presented by Shannon Perez-Darby of the NW Network of LGBTQ Survivors of Abuse

This training will look at the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and questioning youth who exchange sex for money, clothing, drugs, a place to stay or other survival needs. This training is designed to start the conversation and equip anti-violence advocates, youth workers and first responders with initial skills and framework necessary to help support LGBT youth in the sex trades. We will be exploring topics around youth self-determination, specific support for trans youth and boys in the sex trades, anti-trafficking responses and survivor-centered harm reduction strategies.

Light refreshments will be provided. The meeting is free and open to anyone, so feel free to invite any of your colleagues and coworkers to join.
