The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly: Global Access to Cancer Treatment

Host Organization: Washington Global Health Alliance

About

By 2030, the number of new cancer patients diagnosed each year will double to more than 23 million worldwide. Of those, 7 out of 10 will live in developing countries with no way to access the treatment they need. What are we doing globally to combat these statistics?

In recognition of World Cancer Day, join guest speaker Pat Garcia-Gonzalez, co-founder and CEO of The Max Foundation, as she discusses lessons learned from 15 years of facilitating access to cancer treatment in low- and middle-income countries. She will share “the good, the bad, and the ugly” of the global treatment access landscape and The Max Foundation’s current and future strategies for removing barriers to cancer treatment access.
