Conversations about identity - race, gender, queerness, ability, and much more – are increasingly prevalent in our society. Yet rarely do we have sufficient time and space to reflect on how our own identities influence how we see and how we are seen in our work.
Join us for this interactive workshop that will explore the question, “How can we better understand our own identity, positionality, and power in order to better promote gender, racial, and economic justice through philanthropic work?” This workshop will explore how to incorporate social justice and anti-oppression practice more deeply into philanthropy and grantmaking work, through participants’ understanding of their own positionality, and how others interact with their privileges and power, or lack thereof.
