We live in a resilient community. Although there have not been identified or confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Monterey County, the Community Foundation for Monterey County is concerned with the well being of its staff, donors, nonprofit partners, and the residents of Monterey County.
Government officials and business are taking sweeping measures to halt the spread of the virus by closing schools, delaying travel, cancelling events and having people work remotely. These challenges have the potential to disrupt our lives physically, socially and economically. Because of this, The Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation have created the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help those affected by the impact of the Coronavirus in Monterey County. The COVID-19 Relief Fund will address the immediate and longer-term needs of our region’s most vulnerable residents.
Foundation leaders will be closely monitoring how the coronavirus impacts our community and will deploy additional financial resources to best meet evolving needs.
Donations to the fund will support community needs identified by our nonprofit partners in human services, health, housing and education, and will make grants to nonprofits providing aid to impacted individuals and families in Monterey County.
The Community Foundation for Monterey County is a design studio for philanthropy, working with hundreds of individuals, families and businesses to fulfill their philanthropic vision. We make grants to create healthy, safe, vibrant communities in Monterey County and beyond.
