The fund will be hosted by the Community Foundation of Snohomish County, and is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible. A cross-sector partnership of local philanthropy, government, and business have joined together to create a Response Fund that will rapidly deploy resources to the frontlines of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Snohomish County. Donations to date exceed $1 million.
The Coronavirus Response Fund will provide flexible resources to organizations in the region working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.
The Community Foundation began in 2001 with deep roots in Everett — growing from the Friends of Everett Parks. Those community volunteers and park donors laid the foundation for today’s organization by attracting bright and spirited donors intent on making the community better. Their efforts provided us with experience in community building as we launched our work as the Greater Everett Community Foundation. Today we have a different name, but the same mission. We hold close to our history and the spirit of community under which we were founded.
