The Dance/NYC Coronavirus Dance Relief Fund is made possible by the generous support of the Howard Gilman Foundation, the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Harkness Foundation for Dance. Dance/NYC is acting quickly to advocate on behalf of the New York City metropolitan dance community as it weathers the financial impact of COVID-19 coronavirus and the social restriction measures implemented to contain the spread of the virus.

The purpose of the Fund is to mitigate the growing impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on individual freelance dance workers and dance making organizations with budgets between $25,000 and $500,000 based in the metropolitan New York City area. Specifically:

Dance/NYC's mission is to promote the knowledge, appreciation, practice, and performance of dance in the metropolitan New York City area. It embeds values of justice, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of the organization. It works in alliance with Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance.
