Hosted by the Eden Prairie Community Foundation, the COVID-19 Response Fund will provide one-time operating grants to organizations that have roots in Eden Prairie and because of COVID-19 are encountering extraordinary obstacles in providing food and other services to Eden Prairie residents experiencing poverty.
The first phase of rapid-response grants will address the resiliency of local nonprofits as they institutionalize new ways of delivering services because of the outbreak. The fund expects to move an initial round of grants within the next few weeks.
The Eden Prairie Community Foundation will administer the grants from the Fund in partnership with its Grants Committee and a recently established working group on poverty. Together we will proactively identify potential grant recipients, solicit guidance on potential recipients from community advisors, and recommend final awards. Funds will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis.
If you live or work in Eden Prairie, chances are good that the Eden Prairie Community Foundation has already touched your life in some way, large or small, because we provide grants to nonprofits and agencies that serve Eden Prairie, from the food shelf to the fire department; serve as a fiscal sponsor to small groups and organizations that need help with their community projects, such as building the Veterans Memorial or Eden Prairie Miracle Field; hold philanthropic funds for Eden Prairie individuals and families who do local grant-making on their own; serve as a leader and catalyst for community good; and hold events where neighbors can connect and form friendships.
