The Kent County COVID-19 Recovery Fund is a fund of Grand Rapids Community Foundation established to respond to the near and long-term impact the COVID-19 pandemic will have on the most marginalized in our community, especially communities of color. This fund will be a vehicle for the Community Foundation and its donor partners to pool resources to collectively support the recovery of nonprofits and small businesses serving those disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our primary focus is to address the deep and historic racial, social and economic inequities that exist in our community and are intensified in times of crisis. We will prioritize recovery efforts that are led by or reach communities of color, organizations with limited access to financial support through traditional philanthropy or loan opportunities, and those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grand Rapids Community Foundation was established in 1922. We're proud to be Michigan's oldest community foundation. For nearly 100 years, we've been making grants in Kent County, helping nonprofits prosper and students succeed. We do this with the help of generous donors and the expertise of grantees.
