Hurricane Otis Response Fund for Acapulco
About
In response to Hurricane Otis, the HIP team will raise monetary contributions to send directly to affected communities in the city of Acapulco and surrounding municipalities.
Currently, the magnitude of the damage caused remains uncertain as communication lines are down, however, we know that at least 27 people lost their lives and 4 are missing, communications in the city of Acapulco have been cut off, streets and roads are blocked by debris, and houses and hospitals are flooded and damaged.
We must act collectively and quickly. The dismantling of the Natural Disaster Relief Fund in Mexico has left a void as to how the government can respond to support communities on the ground. We must support those who have been impacted by this devastating storm.
With your support, we can accelerate the recovery of this city.
