Japan Relief Fund
About
A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Japan has caused widespread damage across Miyagi and Fukushima Prefectures, only days after the 11th anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan in 2011. Your donation to the fund will help affected communities in Japan recover.
All donations to this fund will support earthquake relief and recovery efforts in Japan. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs emerge, we will support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in the impacted area.
About the Host
When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
