In these unprecedented times, the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) is launching an Emergency Response Fund for several European countries that have been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each one of these Emergency Response Funds will pool donor contributions, and distribute their generosity to the nonprofit organizations listed on the country page. These organizations include leading hospitals that are overwhelmed by the large influx of patients, and lack beds in their intensive care units, emergency equipment such as ventilators, but also basic supplies such as surgical masks, protective suits and safety glasses. Also listed are other nonprofits working on the frontlines of their country's response, providing much needed social services to the most vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, the poor and the homeless.
The King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) understands that philanthropy is about personal stories. And sometimes, these stories take us beyond our borders. Since opening our offices as a 501(c)(3) public charity in 2002, we have served as a knowledgeable bridge between American donors and nonprofits overseas.
