On August 14, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti across several major cities. This is another major setback in a country struggling with political instability, COVID-19, food security, and now a devastating earthquake.
Mercy Corps teams are already on the ground where help is most needed. In Haiti, for example, we anticipate that some of the immediate needs will be food, clean water, and shelter, and we have 70 dedicated team members, ready to work when disaster strikes. All over the world, Mercy Corps works alongside communities to help families affected by disasters, conflict, and climate change.
Your gift today to our Humanitarian Response Fund can help us meet the immediate needs of those facing crises like this earthquake currently affecting Haiti, and build a future where everyone can prosper.
Mercy Corps is a global team of humanitarians working together on the front lines of today’s biggest crises to create a future of possibility, where everyone can prosper.
In more than 40 countries around the world, over 5,600 team members work side by side with people living through poverty, disaster, violent conflict and the acute impacts of climate change. We’re committed to creating global change through local impact — 85 percent of our team members are from the countries where they work.
