The SJICF Emergency Response Fund will be used now to support the efforts of our island nonprofits as they continue to meet the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors facing challenges as a result of COVID-19 disruptions.
The staff and board at SJICF understand that school and business closures, medical and economic hardships and limitations on travel as a result of COVID-19 will have a negative cascading effect on the health and wellbeing of our community members.
The San Juan Island Community Foundation has established the SJICF Emergency Response Fund to meet critical needs in the San Juan Island community resulting from an emergency or crisis affecting San Juan Islanders. In this time, the San Juan Island Community Foundation asks for your support by donating to this fund to help address the critical needs posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
SJICF provides leadership for key community issues. We distribute grants to support and advance local nonprofit activities and projects. We identify current and emerging issues and critical needs. We find ways to address short and long-term needs, and with the help of donors, we seek to address these needs through grant making and building a community endowment to support a thriving San Juan Island community long into the future.
