On March 24, 2020 the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved $3,000,000 in emergency funding to support those most impacted in San Mateo County in partnership with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. This website has been developed to allow people from San Mateo County and beyond to join the County’s relief effort and make directed donations that will specifically benefit San Mateo County residents, small businesses and non-profits. Help the County of San Mateo combat the COVID-19 pandemic by donating to the San Mateo County Strong Fund.
ALL money donated will stay inside San Mateo County and not one penny will go elsewhere, so you can have confidence that you are helping your neighbors. Your donation will go to one of the three categories:
1.) Individuals/families - Helping to cover basic household expenses
2.) Small Local Businesses - Helping them avoid layoffs and stay open or reopen once feasible
3.) Non-Profits - That provide services to our most vulnerable populations like seniors, homeless individuals or people with disabilities
Silicon Valley Community Foundation advances innovative philanthropic solutions to challenging problems. SVCF formed in 2007, and we are proud that since then we have awarded more than $6 billion in grants locally, nationally and globally. Of those grants, more than $3 billion has gone to support charities in the nine-county Bay Area in California.
