SCF is forever grateful to all of our donors who have made contributions to our Solano Community Impact Fund. We are especially honored and thankful for the generosity and leadership of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Their President and CEO stood up three COVID-19 related funds almost immediately. Their COVID-19 Regional Response Fund and COVID-19 Nonprofit Emergency Fund support nonprofits in all 10 Bay Area counties. We also received funding from the League of California Community Foundations (made possible by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) to support our grantmaking efforts.
Grants made from this fund is to support our "second responders" during this crisis, (i.e, charitable nonprofits and faith-based organizations) that are providing essential health care services and support to help our most at-risk and marginalized populations. As the coronavirus and ensuing economic fallout have ravaged our country, we’ve seen firsthand how this crisis heightens social and systemic inequalities. Structural racism, disparities in the labor market, and differences in citizenship status are contributing to how this pandemic impacts our communities.
Solano Community Foundation has once again passed the rigorous National Standards Compliance for U.S. Community Foundations administered by the Council on Foundations. National Standards represent the highest measure of accountability and transparency in philanthropy. We are proud to have achieved reconfirmation of these rigorous standards in donor services, investment management, grantmaking, and administration.
