MARIA FUND is an intermediary organization with a mission to catalyze and support the growth of a network of social movement leaders and organizers with a shared vision and analysis who support and amplify each other’s work to transfer wealth and power to the people of Puerto Rico. The Maria Fund fulfills its mission by developing initiatives to mobilize resources and convening groups for strategic alignment, working towards achieving structural change.
Since its creation after Hurricane Maria, MARIA FUND has evolved into a permanent resource mobilization entity, providing financial support and resources to grassroots organizations, community leaders, and social justice projects. Through grants awarded to 90 organizations and stipends for leaders throughout our archipelago, MARIA FUND has successfully mobilized $9.6 million in resources from 2017 to the present day.
