The University of Washington (UW) Department of Epidemiology Student Epidemic Action Leaders (SEAL) Team, launched in 2015, helps bridge the gap between our academic epidemiology training and epidemiology in public health practice. The program, which is a collaboration between the Department of Epidemiology and the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), trains “disease detectives” who are poised to act in response to disease outbreaks.
To provide ongoing support to the Student Epidemic Action Leaders (SEAL) Team in the Department of Epidemiology within the School of Public Health.
The UW is one of the world’s preeminent public universities. Our impact on individuals, our region and the world is profound — whether we are launching young people into a boundless future or confronting the grand challenges of our time through undaunted research and scholarship. Ranked No. 14 in the world on the 2018 Academic Ranking of World Universities, the UW educates more than 54,000 students annually. We turn ideas into impact and transform lives and our world.
