In an effort to address the needs of area non-profits caused by COVID-19, the Western Kanas Community Foundation, with the support of generous donors, has established the Urgent Needs Fund. The WKCF is seeking your generosity in donating to help support the Urgent Needs Fund. To date the fund has been supported by these local businesses: Black Hills Energy, Keller Leopold Insurance, and Pioneer Communications.
This fund will provide grants to area non-profits to address operating needs as a result of crisis disaster. “While the initial priority is to address immediate needs, additional funds will be released in the next months as fundraising continues," says WKCF’s Executive Director, Conny Bogaard.
The Foundation is a public charity, therefore it provides substantial tax advantages, enabling you to further your own philanthropic goals. Individuals can avoid the high cost associated with establishing a private foundation by utilizing the WKCF as a conduit for charitable giving. The WKCF has flexibility to respond to challenging conditions within southwest Kansas. Anyone can give through a Foundation, whether setting up a named fund, contributing to an existing fund, or making an unrestricted gift, every person can make a difference and gifts of any size are important to preserving southwest Kansas in perpetuity.
