Annie's List Training and Engagement Fund

Mission

Annie’s List began in 2003 to counter the efforts of Karl Rove and House Republicans to target and eliminate Democratic women’s districts in the 2001 redistricting process, resulting in the loss of five Democratic women in the Texas legislature in 2003 and the loss of a Democratic majority in the Texas State House for the first time since reconstruction. Annie’s List fought back and made consistent progress since then, as an organization dedicated to recruiting, training, and electing progressive women candidates that support abortion rights across Texas at both the state and local level. Over nearly twenty years, Annie’s List has helped progressive, pro-choice women win more than 160 races through fundraising, direct voter contact, candidate recruitment, staff training, and more. In 2021, Annie’s List re-launched our 501c4 with a statewide pipeline plan that envisions the strategy and lays out the path for the long term infrastructure needed to change the face of power in Texas, while generating the space for the PAC to stay laser focused on the cycle by cycle work needed to turn the tide. Since its founding, Annie's List has raised Million to help progressive women run efficient and effective campaigns.
