Mission

BDT was founded in Philadelphia in 2005 by Warren Kantor. Warren experienced the complexities of accessing vital benefit programs when he helped his suddenly widowed mother apply for housing assistance. Later, he achieved success in the financial services sector and recognized that technology used to market to potential credit card customers could also be used to reach individuals eligible for public benefits.

Benefits Data Trust helps people live healthier, more independent lives by creating smarter ways to access essential benefits and services.

We envision a world where eligible people receive dignified and efficient assistance to pay for food, healthcare, and other critical needs. We envision lower healthcare costs, more efficient government, and people who are healthy, economically mobile, and thriving.
