Mission

The mission of the C5 Youth Foundation of Southern California, also known as C5LA, is to change the odds for high-potential teens from risk-filled environments, inspiring them to pursue personal success, and preparing them for leadership roles in college. We encourage C5LA teens to be character-driven, community-focused, challenge-ready, college-bound and committed to a better future. Our program is designed to take students out of their comfort zone, to challenge them through unique outdoor activities, We expose our Leaders to be culturally competent, to be engaged in community action. Our model builds resilience, develops social emotional intelligence, and supports our leaders and their families in determining goals for their children.

We work in partnership with our families being guided by them and standing with them in their child’s success. Our responsiveness to the needs of our community has resulted in generations of students who are committed to a better future for themselves and their communities
