CLEAN WATER ACTION

Mission

Clean Water Action is a national citizens organization that works to ensure clean, safe, and affordable water, prevent health-threatening pollution, create environmentally safe jobs and businesses, and empower people to make democracy work. They engage individuals, organizations, and public officials in efforts to understand and improve policies related to water, environmental health, toxics, and the environment. Their major emphasis is on water quality and safety, as well as environmental health risks from polluting power plant emissions. They organize grassroots groups, coalitions, and campaigns to protect the environment, health, economic well-being, and community quality of life. They also provide public education and outreach, offering information for individual and community involvement in public policy and local impacts on water, environmental health, toxics, and the environment. Additionally, they work to make democracy work by engaging members and the public in lobbying for and supporting clean water leaders at all levels of government. They also have programs to educate and engage the public on clean energy and energy efficiency.
