DC Theater Arts Collaborative Anacostia Playhouse

Mission

The Anacostia Playhouse opened its doors in the summer of 2013 in the Anacostia Historic District. The theater at 2020 Shannon Place, SE, is located in a place of both rich history and great promise. As a full-time facility, we see ourselves as uniquely positioned to serve our east of the river community, while we work to introduce the neighborhood to members of other communities, thereby helping spur local economic development. Our exciting programming and diverse audience base are part of the movement to restore nighttime vigor to Historic Anacostia.

Since 2013, we have welcomed performers, designers, directors, theatergoers and community members from all over the metro area. And there are lots of great events, theater, music and more on the books in the months to come.
