FoodWhat Inc. is a youth empowerment and food justice organization that engages young people in relationships with land, food, and each other, grounded in love and justice. They provide a meaningful space for youth to define and cultivate their empowerment, liberation, and well-being. In 2021, they deepened job training and provided sustainable wages during the economic downturn. They also incorporated healing and mental health content, such as workshops on food as medicine, coping strategies, and herbal tea making. Through programs like Grow Your Own and Cook at Home, youth grew produce at home and transformed family CSAs into healthy meals. They harvested approximately 4,000 lbs. of produce for their family CSAs.
