Hilltop Neighborhood House
Mission
Hilltop Neighborhood House began in 1995 as a community resource for its diverse neighborhood, sometimes called “College Hill.” To meet the needs of today’s neighborhood, it is a registered ministry of the State of Indiana - its excellence recognized by National Early Childhood Program Accreditation, and its professionalism by achieving the highest standards of Indiana FSSA, Level 4 in Paths to Quality. Hilltop maintains a food pantry as well as a mobile pantry to serve Valparaiso neighborhoods needing food assistance. Its new Hilltop Community Garden teaches children about growing food, and supplies the pantry and gardeners with fresh produce. Its afterschool program offers neighborhood children an evening meal, tutoring, and social time in a safe location. Hilltop will also open their very own soup kitchen in 2024 to serve hot meals to the community, offer budget-friendly cooking classes, and help those in need!
