IF/WHEN/HOW is an organization that aims to transform the law and policy landscape by advocating for the power of all individuals to determine if, when, and how to define, create, and sustain families. They engage in legal and policy work by litigating cases related to the criminalization of pregnancy outcomes, filing amicus briefs in relevant cases, and providing research and analysis to support proactive policies. They also offer support and organizing efforts through initiatives such as the Repro Legal Helpline and providing technical assistance to allied organizations. Additionally, they focus on movement building by connecting legal professionals through the RJ Lawyers Network, training law students at their annual Leadership Institute, and launching the careers of advocates through the RJ Fellowship Program. They have also established the Repro Legal Defense Fund to cover bail and criminal defense costs for individuals who face criminalization due to their pregnancy outcomes.
