ILLINOIS COALITION FOR IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE RIGHTS
Mission
The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) aims to promote equal participation of immigrants and refugees in political, civic, cultural, and social life. Through programs like the Immigrant Family Resource Program (IFRP), ICIRR supports immigrant access to public benefits and critical cash assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, IFRP provided cash transfers, interpretations, translations, and in-depth services to thousands of low-income immigrant families. ICIRR's New Americans Initiative (NAI) served over 28,000 individuals in multiple languages, assisting with DACA renewals, fee waivers, and providing scholarships. Additionally, ICIRR focuses on organizing and leadership development of its member-based organizations.
