Mission
At the Midwest Innocence Project we champion the wrongfully convicted, striving to unearth truths, restore lives, and reshape a legal landscape rooted in fairness. Our multifaceted approach, from legal representation to reentry support and advocacy for systemic change, reflects a commitment to making a lasting impact on individuals and communities impacted by wrongful convictions. Join us on this profound journey as we collectively forge a path to a more equitable future.
Who We Are
MIP advocates for individuals unjustly convicted of crimes they did not commit. Our mission extends beyond securing freedoms to providing comprehensive support upon re-entry and advocating for systemic changes that prevent wrongful convictions. As an independent member of the national Innocence Network, MIP collaborates with law firms, law schools, and volunteers to offer top-notch, cost-free legal representation to innocent individuals in our region.
